aaand we're done

Once again, it was a busy week and I worked close most nights. By the time I got home I didn't feel like blogging or even taking pictures sometimes. So today is my last day of dresses. I made it a whole month. I can and can't believe it. Tomorrow... pants.

Today I wore a dress that I made out of my own little head. I think this one is Becca's favorite of my creations.
The tights are my Gap purple ones.
Coat is a huge chunky awesome Gap one from last year.
The shoes are Steve Madden. I got a lot of compliments at church today. Apparently all I have to do is wear something cute to have people come up and say hi... and maybe look welcoming. I might want to work on that.

Saturday I wore a dress that I made out of a couple of Gap shirts I got on sale over a year ago. I get a lot of compliments on this one too, although I mostly covered it up in this outfit.
The black leggings are the new Gap Maximum Heat ones. They are fantastic. I have both colors and wear them all the time now... at least the past few days, including while I'm typing this. They are super soft inside.
The belt is my old Gap belt that apparently I felt like wearing all week long.
Brown Gap cardigan.
Blowfish falls boots in whiskey.

Friday
Black Gap dress from this year.
Grey Maximum Heat Gap leggings.
Steve Madden Tuxxedo shoes.
Gap belt.
Urban Outfitters blue cardigan... with unfortunate spots I found out from when I had to go to the emergency room when a ladder fell on my head and I had to get staples. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure it's iodine.

I think I look grumpy in a lot of these pictures, and I'm going to blame it on the fact that it is cold outside. I mean I am in Utah. So I love this outfit. I feel very J Crew kids. Weird I know. Anyway, it made me happy to wear it.

Thursday
Gap Kids dress this season. It just came out a few days ago. If you can fit into kids clothes or you know someone that can, go get it. It's just fun.
Gap navy blazer.
Steve Madden tuxxedo shoes.
gap socks

Like I said, I kind of went a little overboard with the belt. I like it though, so it's okay. I also go overboard with my whiskey Blowfish falls when it gets cold outside. I tend to get attached to things.

Wednesday
Chunky cord Gap coat
Blowfish falls in whiskey
Gap belt
Anthropologie dress
The scarf is one that I picked up in Nepal. It is soooo soft. Cashmere and silk. Mmmmm...

I worked almost a full week this week, which doesn't seem like a lot at all, but when you're used to working about 20 hours, and the actual workload is big (lots of shipment, lots of moving the store around) you get a little worn out by the end of it. I love weeks like that though. You feel good about yourself, and you make more money. It was a good solid week.

Tuesday
Cut off jersey knit navy Gap dress
Gap belt
Gap plaid shirt
Steve Madden tuxxedo shes

Monday was my day off, so there were no shoes required.
Greed argyle Gap tights
cream lace slip dress
Gap brown shawl sweater

another week gone by, another week to go

Apparently I like to just disappear for days at a time. I lose track of it. Today during church I was inspired to make a list of things I need to get done before Christmas... and just in general. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of craft posts coming soon. maybe not this week because I work 35 hours, but maybe more so because of that. I tend to like to keep things going when I'm busy and tend to stay lazy when I don't work much. I should be posting Christmas gift crafts within the next seven weeks. To all of you family that read this, I'll say who it's going to be for at the beginning of the post so you don't get a glimpse of your gift if you don't want to.

So for the dress today, it isn't technically a dress. Mom has always called it her getaway dress, so who's to say I can't call it a dress? This is the "dress" that she wore after her reception or wedding after she married Dad and they ran off together for the rest of their lives. When I was at home the last time Mom had Dad get it out of the hallway closet so I could try it on. IT FIT! I think it's so pretty. The whole thing is knit with a cream yarn that kind of has little popcornish thick parts on it. Anyway, it's very cute. It has a long skirt, a top with a bit of an X pattern at the top, and a matching belt. It's so vintage and pretty.
Oh course I had to wear my vintage red snakeskin heels with it. A perfect match.

Yesterday, Saturday, I decided to get things done seeing as how it was my day off. I also decided to wear something I probably wouldn't wear to work because of that as well. Basically I cleaned and organized my room and for some reason decided to put things in jars on my windowsill... like you can see in these pictures. I'll take a closeup of them sometime I'm sure.

So I was fed like a queen yesterday. Right when I was about to go upstairs and make myself some food I got a knock on my door from Bert practically shoving tamales into my hands. They were hot and delicious. Apparently some woman came around selling them and Bert bought a ton. She handed me the ones she couldn't fit in the fridge. Mmmmmm. Tamales are one of the many reasons I love the holidays and am sad I'm not in Texas.

After getting things done and stopping by the French Bakery to pick up some bread for dinner I went to my dear Dallinfriend's place for dinner. Oooooh my goodness. He made the BEST clam chowder I have ever had. It didn't even cross my mind to pick out the onions and corn. I love onions and corn... I just usually don't like the texture. I know I'm a picky eater. Anyway, we cut the bread I got in half and made bread bowls and dined dined dined. Seriously, I was so full and happy and sleepy after that I left relatively early. But oh my Dallin, you can cook that for me anytime.

The dress for Saturday was a Silence and Noise colorblock dress I got from Urban Outfitters one depressing day when I needed to run away and went to Salt Lake. I think buying dresses when you are feeling down is always a good thing.
The boots are my Blowfish Falls in whiskey as always.
The cardigan under it is a tan Gap one that I have four of in different colors.

Friday was just another Friday. I worked long and hard, passed up on watching a movie with friends I ran into at the grocery store, and passed out while talking to my old friend Mr. Mike and eating oreos and milk. All in all I'd say it was productive.

The dress is an old Gap dress that I replaced the buttons on.
The shoes are once again my Blowfish Falls in whiskey.
The shirt underneath is a remade cream mens waffle henley from Gap.

I had another interview with my friend Rene's work on Thursday, so I wore plants for the first half of it... then realized that I hadn't worn a dress and that I was going to a show that night and coerced Brandon into helping me pick something to wear. Kind of hard over the computer I guess. Oh well. Even though I was hesitant to wear velvet, I think it worked out well.

My friend Kris' band is on tour right now and Thursday was their stop in Utah. I got my friend Emily, who also kind of knows Kris and his brother Andrew to come with me. Those kids are very talented. It is a group of four brothers in a band called Les Sages. You should check them out at lessages.com. Anyway, since most of their family is here they added a part for one of their sisters at this show, so she was up there on Thursday. The whole family has nine kids. Their mom came and so did one of their other sisters... maybe one of their other brothers, but I'm not too sure. I had meet about four of them before, but it was cool to see more. I swear that whole family has something about them. I have a communal crush on that family. They are so genuine and their style is just so unique. They grew up in Canada and picked up and moved around from there. You should listen to the song Nomad. It's a story of their childhood and their parents' love. They even switched instruments after every song and sang acapella after the show. Anyway, they are all very talented and beautiful people. Check them out.

So my dress for the night was a navy velvet Gap dress.
The cardigan was a cream boyfriend Gap one.
The boots are Simple brown felt that lace up the back.
The belt in my Gap hemp one.

I kind of feel like I just didn't care what I work on Wednesday. It was shipment and I knew I needed to move around and get dirty.

The dress is a Gap nightgown from years ago.
The tights are greyish brown ribbed Gap tights.
Blowfish Falls boots in whiskey.
Gap blue and white striped cardigan with added lace.

Now I KNOW I just threw this on on Tuesday. It's a throwback to the 90's with an 00's twist.

The dress is a remake of one of my mom's old dresses from the 80's or 90's.
The cardigan is a black and navy wrap sweater from Gap.
Blowfish Falls boots in black.

I'll talk to you later kids. I only have a week of dresses to go. It's kind of bitter sweet.

down the rabbit hole

So maybe I have disappeared for the past few days. At least I was having fun right? So this is the outfit for yesterday.

Dress is Gap kids. They had one at Banana Republic for 98 bucks that looked just like this one that I got for 6.97 with an additional 30% off. How could I not get it. It's way cute.
Hat is one I made. It's just like the cream one from last weekend, just black of course.
Cardigan is a black half sleeve Gap one.
Legging pants are grey Gap ones.
Flats are my black satin Gap ones.

Sunday I wore a Gap cotton dress. It has pockets. So cool.
Gap hemp belt.
Blowfish Falls boots in whiskey.

My Halloween costume was Alice. I have strangely never been Alice before. I have always loved those books. When I was little on vacation my mom would read them to me because I loved them even though she hated them. I think she's coming around a bit though.

Dress is one that I made years ago out of an old linen skirt. I love this dress and it is thrashed. I might have to make a remake out of my remake. It also has pockets... which I love of course.
Apron I made on Saturday. Way simple.
Gap cream lace tights.
black ribbon in hair. I think it came from some gift I got a few years ago.
Blowfish Sugar maryjanes in whiskey.

Saturday was a big work day for me because for some reason I told somebody I would cover their shift after I worked a shift. Fine for a normal day, but the Halloween Saturday? I wasn't too quick on that one.

Black Gap dress and red plaid flannel shirt.
Red belt with flowers claimed from an old roommate.
Black Justin boots given to me by my sister who can no longer fit into them.

Friday was a shipment day at work so I had to work with that and the dress.

Navy blue Gap jumper with pockets.
Maroon double layer Gap men's henley remade to fit me.
Black ribbon in hair.
Blowfish Falls boots in whiskey.

I wasn't scheduled to work on Thursday, so I just threw anything on... then I said I would cover for someone that was sick. I'm just that nice. My only day off huh?

Dress is an Urban Outfitters dress I got living in Dallas. It was my first dress that I got for myself. Sad that it was only five years ago and now look at me.
Here are the grey legging pants again, as well as my black satin flats.

black and blue

Today I felt like doing the whole white, black, grey thing apparently. By the way, why can't I spell grey the way I want to without computers always saying it's wrong? I also decided to go with the whole comfy thing the past couple of days as well. Cute and comfy is always a plus.

The dress is one that I made a few years ago. You can't really see it, but it;s cream and has about a four inch wide strip of crocheted lace that drapes in the front and makes the "sleeves" or straps. It's way cute. I've had a ton of compliments on it.
The boots are black Blowfish Falls.
The tights are just solid black gap tights.
The cardigan is a really versatile cardigan I got from Anthropologie. It is grey knit and can button up half the front and the back. It can be worn cape/cardiganish like I am wearing it, like a haltar, or like a scarf. It also has a tie. I just decided to sinch the ties in and tighten them on each side instead of together.

Yestderday I didn't feel much like posting. I don't remember what my deal was, but on well. I had Bert take the pictures for me yesterday. Unfortunately the lighting is bad in the shots and I didnt' feel like figuring out the right settings either. Apparently I was way lazy yesterday.

The outfit was kind of a repeat of Saturday's, just with a different dress. I had an interview that morning and wore the pants with a different shirt and jacket, so it was an easy change. I also opened shipment at work, which meant something comfy and that I didn't care about getting dirty.

The dress is a forever 21 dress that I used to wear to bed allll the time.
The pants are my gap black stretchy pants with the zippers in the back.
The cardigan is my gap boyfriend cardigan with the three pockets.
The shoes are black satin gao flats from oh so long ago.

let it flow

So I stayed up late on Saturday playing with my Nickfriend and didn't feel motivated to blog on Sunday, so now it is Monday and I'm blogging for today and yesterday.
The dress on Sunday was a Gap one as usual.
The take underneath was a blue Banana Republic one.
The shoes were brown leather heels. I don't remember the brand.
Like I said, it was a lazy day. I went to church, took a nap, and talked to friends online, yadda yadda.

Today I took a nap after I ate almost an entire thing of dippies... Those are a thing of rolls dipped in butter then cinnamon and sugar and then cooked. Mmmm. During my nap I must have had wonderfully creative dreams because I woke up feeling like I could create anything in the world. The juices are flowing. I hope they don't disappear anytime soon. I have projects to do, and I like it when I feel like this. Anyway, I finished the dippies and told Becca of my weekend disasters and adventures then went off to eat white chili and cookies. Pretty much a good day.

The dress is one that I got years ago at this little place called the Flower Basket.
The jeans are Refuge ones again, and the shoes are my Tuxxedo shoes again.

three two one

So I may have been busy, so here are the past three days all at once. On Thursday I went to Salt Lake and hung out with my Joe friend. We wandered down town and then went to a bar and had some delicious food. He took a few pictures of me when we were wandering around. There was one little spot in the sidewalk with a single rose. He had to get a shot of that.

I was wearing a cream dress that I made from my own little head and dress form. I have too much fun just draping sometimes.
The jacket is a navy Gap military jacket.
The tights are my blue polka dot Gap tights.
The shoes are brown Steve Madden tuxxedo shoes.
The hat is one that I crocheted. I like that it's kind of 20's.

Friday night I went to see the wonderful and amazing Jonsi with my dear friend Dave. We decided that we are apparently Friday friends... cause that's when we hang out. These are a couple of pictures I took on my phone while I was there. The show was truly amazing. The crowd was silent when they needed to be. The sound was perfect. They energy was great.

I'm five feet tall. So we were like 10 feet from the front, but this cluster of people over six feet tall was standing right in front of us. It was hard to see, but I could usually get around their shoulders. About four songs from the end one of them walked off and my friends shoved me up there. Front row. He kept walking over right in front of me, and when he was playing the keyboard it was right in front of me as well. Pretty much awesome.

This is what I wore yesterday. I did change out of the dress and into a tshirt for the concert though. It was all hot and sticky in there and cold outside. A dress and sweater with jeans wouldn't do.
The dress is an old Gap one.
The sweater and shoes are Gap as well.
The jeans are Refuge. They're cheap and they fit. Woot.

Now this is today. It's an inside kind of day. The pants are stretchy black legging pant things from the Gap with little zippers in the back and seams along the front and back. If I wasn't wearing dresses every day I'd probably be wearing these right now.
The dress is one I got from Urban Otfitters a long time ago. No shoes are required today... because I'm a bum.

POP!

Today I wore my dress with fireworks on it, so it's only fitting that I should be jumping on the bed. Right?

This is my oh so comfy bed. Complete with a sheepskin and lots of pillows, most of which are homemade. I don't think it's been made since I last washed the sheets. Oh well.

The painting on the wall is one that I did, as well as the bird painting that may have been in the shots a couple of days ago. I really need to get more done and put them on the wall. That deer looks lonely.

I went to the temple after work today, so I had to find an appropriate outfit. I thought it was great... until I walked in and realized my tights practically glow blue. Oh well.

The dress is a grey jersey knit Urban Outfitters dress with fireworks on it from a few years ago.
The cardigan is a black Gap boyfriend cardigan with awesome pockets. I was chowing down on hidden candy corn at work all day because of them.
The tights are Gap from last year. I picked them up when my purple ones got a hole in them. That was a sad day.
The shoes are black satin Gap flats from years ago as well.

Well, I'm off to start my very long weekend. Happy day! I'm starting it off by going to Salt Lake and hanging out with my Josephus Joefriend tomorrow. Should be fun, and the pictures should be better.
